Now establishing himself as one of the UK’s leading jazz guitarists and teachers, Hofner Artist Jamie Taylor’s playing has drawn praise from top critics like The Guardian’s John Fordham and Jazzwise’s Robert Shore, having been heard at a long list of venues, in the company of leading jazz musicians, such as Sheryl Bailey, Roni Ben-Hur, Steve Fishwick, Baptiste Herbin, Sebastiaan DeKrom, Laura Jurd, Alan Barnes, Jim Mullen, Tori Freestone, Jamil Sheriff and Gary Potter. He has also been featured on recordings for the jazz labels Candid and GLP.
Jamie is currently a Principal Lecturer in Jazz Guitar at Leeds College of Music, the UK’s largest conservatoire. The school’s full-time jazz degree course is one of the oldest in Europe (having started in 1967) and Jamie held the post of Course Leader for this program between 2007-2009.
