Mark Dresser will present his vocabulary of extended techniques that has grown into a musical language through improvisation, transcription and composition. The overtone series is central to these techniques including two-handed tapping, bitones, harmonic specific flautando, artificial harmonics, multi-nodal harmonics, subharmonics, and multiphonics. The combination of intuition and understanding leads to melody, harmony, rhythm, and sonic possibilities.
